Movie Review - Mark Smithson

8 mile 8 mile is an American movie, filmed in 2002 and directed by Curtis Hanson. This is a semi-autobiographical movie of Jimmy ‘B-Rabbit’ Smith Jr,  best known as Eminem. The movie starts when ‘B-Rabbit’ and his dysfunctional family move to 8 Mile Road which is a neighborhood of Detroit. This wasn’t an easy life for neither of them. They almost got evicted and despite ‘B-Rabbit’ is a talented rapper he gets humiliated several times due to his lack of confidence. Things got worse when he beats his manager, who also represented the enemy gang, after he discovers him having sex with his girlfriend.   He finally gets revenge gaining confidence and doing what he best does, killing the beat. This is a well directed movie that shows the beginning of Eminem’s success. The only fault I find is the ending, because it doesn’t shows you how he finally succeeds. It is a great movie and I would highly recommend it specially if you are an Eminem’s fan. Mark Smiths...

Review: WAR HORSE

War Horse is an american drama and war film. It's directed by Steven Spielberg and the main actors are Jeremy Irvine (Albert), Emily Watson and Tom Hiddleston. This film explains the story of a boy called Albert and Joey (his horse), band everything changes with the First World war. Albert's father sells Joey to the British army to fight in the front. Due to its courage it manages to survive every day. Albert cannot forget his friend and leaves his home to fight in the war of France. There he search non-stop for Joey to bring it to his home. What I liked about this film is that represents the love between humans and animals. A negative aspect; it's a film with an obvious ending. I would recommend War Horse to people who like animals and the war movies. Querol, Belén
